Aspen - United States of America

While Aspen is known as a winter destination, you can’t miss the summer season. Located at 7.900 feet over sea level, in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Aspen is a genuine mountain village and the perfect place for the family. Aspen holds a very interesting history, a great variety of outdoor adventures, rich cultural activities, a pleasant climate and an incredible landscape.

By the end of the 19th Century Aspen started as a growing mining city, hard work based on the dreams of its aprox.16.000 settlers. Today, the Aspen permanent population is around 6.700 people. When Aspen Mountain opened its doors in 1947, the city enjoyed its second peak period, recovering from the “years of inactivity” that came after the silver mining boom fall. The modern Aspen cofounders, Walter and Isabel Paepke, started in 1949 the Aspen Music Festival & School and the Aspen Institute, giving birth to their dream of Aspen being the perfect place to nourish mind, body and spirit.

A small village which has cultural events that compete with those of the biggest cities, Aspen’s calendar is full of music, arts, theater, conferences and dancing shows. Before enjoying a show, neighbours and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as trekking, rafting, horse riding, flyfishing, mountain climbing and biking.

After a day full of activities, delight yourself with food and fashion. With more than 100 restaurants and pubs and over 200 stores which offer fashion, art galleries and gift shops, Aspen is the perfect place to enjoy.
